So I Tap Phil to . . . Do Something

Fear not if the card game reference above went over your head; there will be no more. To make a short story long, I have been extremely tired for the last couple of days. Yesterday was the nadir, as I basically came home from my office and fell asleep on the sofa. A part of me still fears that I might be fighting the illness that sent Sandi to the mat pretty much all of last week, but it seems more likely that I have merely drained my energy tanks during Sandi's incapacitation.

This evening, we noticed a UPS truck on the road in front of our house. We figured there was a delivery across the street -- until we saw a brown-clad guy walking up to the porch with a box in hand. Since Sandi's DVD of the original film The Women arrived earlier in the week, we were expecting no packages. We were even more perplexed when we saw the address label, which said the box came from Sandi's parents. The confusion turned to chuckles when we saw the package's contents. To fill in some backstory, nearly every trip Joyce makes up here to visit entails a care package of snacks from Bobby (Sandi's dad). We had remarked on the lack of such victuals a couple of weeks ago, and Joyce confessed that she had forgotten the shipment. You now have a single guess as to what we found in the box. Bobby even sent some treats for Ranger and the cats.

The only other thing worth mentioning is that this month's waiting families meeting is actually being held in the Tri-Cities area. In addition to the usual proceedings, we are getting a meal this time. Hooray for free food! That morning, Mark will be visiting our house to see the place for himself; we will also go over our openness questionnaire and fee agreement with him then.

That pretty much gets you current on our lives. Have a great day!
