I feel duty-bound to let you know what the weekend held for us, but before that, I need to let you know about Sandi's work on the old rocking chair brought our way from North Carolina. She envisioned a pleather cover for the seat, with some skirts which would be washable in the event of a messy-poo (apologies for the obscure technical term). To that end, she and Joyce had found some fabrics on our last trip to the home country. Unfortunately, the material was not quite enough to cover the seat completely, so we had to find some more fabric. That led to a Saturday trip to Johnson City, where we found an even better match for our nursery decor in a tablecloth material. As usual, we have pictures of the assembly, which Sandi will post upon request.
Since Mark is getting his first impression of our house tomorrow, we have been working to get the house in tip-top shape. Most of yesterday was spent working toward that goal; this gave Sandi a convenient justification for her typical shenanigans. Closet doors -- gone! Extra cabinet -- moved! New video games -- denied! We are pretty much ready for his visit now, apart from some vacuuming for the morning.
My day at school was highlighted by an insanely long faculty meeting, which had been wedged into a hole in the convocation schedule at King. At the moment, I am in the midst of my first round of tests for the semester, and everyone knows how much I love grading.
In closing, I would like to send a birthday shout-out to Joyce, so . . .
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ! ! ! !
Have a great week!
